Frommer's Review
Consistently voted one of the top hotels in the world by frequent travelers, the Four Seasons offers an understated luxury that appeals to publicity-shy Hollywood stars and wealthy families. The hotel has every conceivable luxury amenity, and in 2007 it underwent a $30-million renovation that changed its look from that of a subdued English country manor to that of a sleek and elegant modern getaway. The hotel's location -- hidden between the 30th and 46th floors of the Mag Mile's most upscale vertical mall -- epitomizes the hotel's discretion. This is not a place you wander into casually to gawk or people-watch. The elegant rooms feature contemporary furnishings, subdued colors, and modern artworks, and each has windows that open to let in the fresh air. Bathrooms boast a lighted makeup mirror, oversize towels and robes, scales, and L'Occitane toiletries. Kid-friendly services include child-size robes, tub amenities, board and video games, and a special room service menu. The hotel's elegant fitness center exudes upscale exclusivity (the pool, surrounded by Roman columns, looks like it could be part of an aristocratic private club). The on-site spa is small but luxurious, with a wide range of treatments. An 18-foot-high white marble fountain marks the entrance to the opulent Seasons Restaurant, and the lobby lounge is a cozy spot for afternoon tea.
