Getting There & Departing
By Plane -- The closest airport to Boca Chica is in David.
By Bus -- There is frequent bus service from David to the town of Horconcitos, but bus service from there to Boca Chica is spotty. Considering that Boca Chica is the jumping-off point for the gulf, nearly every traveler here has arranged accommodations in the area or a day or multiple-day excursion that includes transportation to Boca Chica.
By Car -- Heading east from David, drive 38km (24 miles) and turn right on the turnoff for Horconcitos. Drive about 4.8km (3 miles) to Horconcitos, when the road forks; stay right and turn at the sign for Boca Chica. The road continues from here for 16km (10 miles) to Boca Chica. This portion of the road is unpaved and quite dusty, though it does not require a 4WD unless it's raining.
