Frommer's Review
Substantially upgraded in 2003, this is Wilderness Safaris' premier camp in the Chobe region, and arguably the best in the area (certainly the priciest). Located in a private reserve in the Linyanti/Savuti Channel area, just outside the western boundary of the Chobe National Park, this is prime elephant country (it's not unusual to see 800 elephants in a single day!). Each of the nine large suites, built on raised teak decks, features the ultimate in luxury: a private plunge pool and sala (small pavilion) with wonderful views of the Kings Pool Lagoon -- this waterway has great bird life, and hippos, crocodiles, bushbucks, impalas, elephants, and sables are all seen from the rooms and private pools on a regular basis. Game-viewing activities include drives in open four-wheel-drive vehicles, night drives, walks with a professional guide, and cruises along the Linyanti River in a double-decker boat (water levels permitting). A cheaper alternative is its Savuti Camp, which is also open in summer .
