Outside of fast food places and coffee at Espresso Americano (6a Av. NO), several small restaurants are worth a look for a decent típica plate or seafood. Restaurante Acuarion (corner of the square; no phone) serves steaks, chuletas de cerdo, grilled fish, and even pupusas in a quaint colonial building. El Torito (no phone), on the way out of town, is the most upscale restaurant in Choluteca and the only one that will accept credit cards. They serve steaks and all sorts of grilled animal products. For snacks and drinks on the weekend, look no further than Tío Rico (Calle Williams; no phone), which stays open until 2am and has live music.
