Chuncheon is the home of dak galbi, a dish made with chunks of chicken, garlic, vegetables (onions, sesame leaves, cabbage, sweet potato), and rice cake sticks all mixed with a dollop of spicy gochujang (chile paste) and cooked on a tabletop griddle. There is even a street behind Chuncheon's Myeong-dong street called Dakgalbi Golmok (Dakgalbi Alley) because of all the restaurants there. You can't really go wrong with any of the restaurants in the area, and the prices are all comparable, ranging from W16,000 to W20,000 for a meal for two.

The other dish that the city is famous for is mak guksu, which is sometimes cooked with the leftovers from the dak galbi.
