The biggest draw in town is the Club El Benny, Av. 54 no. 2907 (the Bulevar) between Calles 29 and 31 (tel. 43/55-1674). There's a nightly cabaret show here (admission CUC$3 Fri-Sun and CUC$2 Mon-Thurs) that features the classic sounds and songs of the club's namesake. The place also serves as one of the city's most lively dance clubs. The other popular spot to dance the night away is the Guanaroca Disco at the Hotel Jagua, Calle 37 no. 1, Punta Gorda (tel. 43/55-1003). There's also music nightly at the large, open-air bar at the Club Cienfuegos (tel. 43/51-2891). A local Casa de la Trova (Patio del ARTex, also known locally as El Cubanísimo), at Avenida 16 and Calle 35 (tel. 43/55-1255), has nightly concerts (admission CUC$2). Next to the city's historic theatre is the Patio Terry, Av. 56 between Calles 27 and 29 (tel. 43/51-0770), where traditional music can be heard Tuesday to Sunday (admission is CUC$2).

For a quieter time, pick out a sidewalk table at the Palatino Bar, overlooking the Parque José Martí at Av. 54, corner of Calle 27; or saddle up to a seat at the little hole-in-the-wall local hangout Don Luis on Calle 31, across from the Hotel La Union. At night, locals hang out on the Malecón near Punta Gorda.
