The Performing Arts
Music Hall, 1241 Elm St. (tel. 513/721-8222), is home of the fine Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (tel. 513/381-3300; www.cincinnatisymphony.org) and the Cincinnati Opera (tel. 513/241-2742; www.cincinnatiopera.com). The Cincinnati Ballet (tel. 513/621-5219; www.cincinnatiballet.com) performs at the Aronoff Center, 6th and Walnut (tel. 513/621-2787). Modern and classic plays and musicals are presented at Playhouse in the Park, Eden Park (tel. 513/345-2242; www.cincyplay.com), which won the 2004 Tony Award as best regional theater in the U.S.
The Bar Scene
Arnold's Bar and Grill, 210 E. 8th St., downtown between Main and Sycamore (tel. 513/421-6234; www.arnoldsbarandgrill.com), is Cincinnati's oldest tavern, with live Celtic, bluegrass, jazz, and swing music.
In the Over-the-Rhine district, along Main Street beyond Central Parkway, you'll find many bars, cafes, and microbreweries that offer entertainment. Along narrow cobblestone streets with excellent city views, Mount Adams has many bars that also offer entertainment. The Incline Bar at the fine-dining restaurant Celestial, 1071 Celestial St., Mount Adams (tel. 513/241-4455; www.thecelestial.com), is a favorite of locals for weekend jazz (Fri-Sat starting at 8:30pm).
