Frommer's Review
At the cutting edge of modern art for decades, this museum was one of the first in America to exhibit Picasso's savage Guernica in the 1940s and the controversial nude photographs of Robert Mapplethorpe in 1990. A noncollecting museum, the center showcases special exhibitions at its digs in the $28-million Lois and Richard Rosenthal Contemporary Arts Center. Opened in 2003, it was the first U.S. art museum designed by a woman, London-based Zaha Hadid, who won the prestigious Pritzker Prize for her work. The sixth floor of the museum, called the UnMuseum, is devoted to hands-on, interactive art experiences for children, families, and art lovers of all ages. Admission is free on Monday after 5pm.

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
