Built in several stages throughout the 18th century, with a modern wing added in the 1990s, this inviting country house is part Jacobean and part Georgian. It is surrounded by beautiful grounds with a walled garden and herbaceous borders. The rooms are large and well furnished (the "cozy" rooms being the smallest of the lot); some have four-poster beds. Two-thirds of the units lie within the most modern wing -- designer-decorated, with an aura evoking a traditional private English country house. Bathrooms are small but tidy; each has a tub/shower combination.
