Frommer's Review
This is a beautifully located hotel, just below the crest of a hill, overlooking the misty Aran Islands. The hotel itself is not a castle, but it sits next to the atmospheric ruins of Ballinalacken Castle. The main hotel building was built in the 1840s, but most of the guest rooms are in a modern wing. If you love architectural detail, ask for a room in the old house, which has high ceilings, marble fireplaces, and, in room no. 16, sweeping views of hill and sea. All rooms are traditionally furnished and quite spacious.
