Frommer's Review
This unusual 19th-century tower house overlooking the bay about 1.6km (1 mile) outside the little town of Lahinch is beautiful inside and out. Rooms have comfortable modern beds covered in crisp Irish linens and are decorated with original paintings and period antiques. Televisions are tastefully hidden inside recessed cabinets. Some rooms have wooden floors, and some bathrooms are beautifully designed (a glass panel in one lets you look down into an old well). Bath products are L'Occitane, and there are lots of thoughtful extra touches: After dinner, bathrobes and chocolates are laid out on your bed. Fresh, local produce is used in the kitchen, and dining in is worthwhile, although it's a bit of a splurge. The front of the house is amiably guarded by Wolf, the house dog, who will also accompany you on your seaside walks. About an hour's drive from Shannon Airport, this makes a good first or last night's stop. Note: There are good special offers during the fall and spring.
