When Drew Carey quaffed a beer on his (now long-gone) Cleveland-based TV show, it was usually Burning River Pale Ale, a crisp, full-bodied amber that's just one of Great Lakes' excellent brews. The only American brewery ever to win the coveted "Microbrewery of the Year" award is just a comfortable Ohio City pub with a long mahogany bar, big booths, and pleasant garden seating. The simple pub grub is fine accompaniment for the brews; look for such locally accented fare as beer-battered cod and bratwurst as well as satisfying burgers.
