Frommer's Review
This gorgeous, yellow Victorian inn dates from 1874, and with no TVs or phones in the rooms, it remains a great place to get away from it all. A classic inn without a trace of pretension and amazingly affable innkeepers, it's right off of Main Street and just a short walk from the Hall of Fame. The hotel was the first designed by Henry J. Hardenbergh, who went on to design New York City's Plaza Hotel. The grand dreams he had are more apparent outside of the inn, with the extravagant facade and sweeping veranda. The inside has a very cozy feel: Rooms are by no means enormous but they're comfortable, even though some rooms have quite small showers. Upgrade to the new premium rooms, which have been beautifully redone with four-poster beds and antiques. People congregate downstairs in the sitting room to watch TV, or sit out on the veranda in a rocking chair with a book.
