Inexpensive -- Although not nearly as charming as The Beachhouse, the simple Tubakula Beach Bungalows (tel. 650 0097; www.fiji4less.com) sits in a lagoonside coconut grove almost next door to the Outrigger on the Lagoon Fiji, thus putting the restaurants on Korotogo Drive within walking distance. The downstairs of each A-frame bungalow has a lounge, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom; upstairs is a sleeping loft. Each can sleep six persons, so sharing one represents good value. The 24 dorm beds are in European-style houses. Rates range from F$80 to F$100 (US$48-US$60) for a bungalow, F$18 (US$11) for a dorm bed.
