The Fijian fire walkers from Beqa, an island off the south coast (remember, it's pronounced M-bengga, not Beck-a), parade across the steaming stones to the incantations of "witch doctors" at least once a week at the Hideaway Resort (tel. 650 0177), Outrigger on the Lagoon Fiji (tel. 650 0044), and the Warwick Fiji Resort & Spa (tel. 653 0010). Call them or ask at your hotel for the schedule.
Gecko's Restaurant (tel. 652 0200) in the Kalevu South Pacific Cultural Centre has a 1-hour Fijian dance show Monday to Friday nights and a 3-hour version on Sunday evening. Call for reservations. The Hideaway Resort (tel. 650 0177) has a South Pacific show on Sunday and its excellent cabaret shows during the week.
