La Nieta e' la Pancha, on Belgrano 783 (tel. 351/468-1920), offers typical food such as locro, humitas, and homemade pastas and empanadas, and here you can also try the ubiquitous mate tea so loved by locals. Meals cost around $10 (£6.80).
