This small, elegant restaurant is a piece of the Argentine wine world in a brash commercial city. Located in Córdoba city center, DOC Vinos y Cocina is all about fine wines and finer foods. Modern art hangs from pink-washed walls, amid immaculate white tablecloths bearing wine glasses like waiting sentries. Out back there is a small courtyard with pond, and out front is a tiny wine store. The food is surprising, with marvelous pairings such as matambre and chutney, chicken breast stuffed with smoked deer and pork ribs with ñoquis. Recommended on the wine list is Ruca Malen cabernet sauvignon or Zuccardi Q Tempranillo. If you are in the mood for beer (shame on you), try a bottle of Jerome, one of the best microbrewery beers being made in Argentina.
