Frommer's Review

Dating from the 1840s, this unique rotunda was part of Cork's original Butter Exchange, and the building's name derives from Danish words pertaining to measures of butter. Although destroyed by fire in 1980, the site was rebuilt and opened as a cultural center in 1992. Today, it is dedicated to contemporary dance, and serves as a venue for new dance works and for touring national and international dance companies. Performances are occasional, with the best usually reserved for the Guinness Jazz Festival in October .
