Aqua Seafood Restaurant & Bar ReviewAlthough this restaurant is affiliated with Le Bistro, the chef here once worked at the famed Roy's restaurant in Hawaii, and consequently, Aqua brings the flavors of the South Pacific to the Willamette Valley. Big and casual, Aqua is inside the Water Street Market and has windows overlooking Riverfront Commemorative Park and a couple of big aquariums to distract you (and the kids) while you dine. I like to order two or three pupus (ahi tartare with macadamia nuts, crab-stuffed prawns, spicy baked oysters) and call it a meal. Although the menu leans heavily toward the flavors of Hawaii, you can also get a good rib-eye steak, Indonesian lamb "lollipops," and a delicious crab-cake croissant with macadamia nut-cilantro pesto. There are special three-course meals for kids. Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice. | 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
