The Cumberland branch of the Thrasher Carriage Museum , this museum celebrates the National Road, the U.S. government's first public-works project, which began in Cumberland. The exhibits, with 32 vehicles from Conestoga wagons to carriages to the automobile, are in chronological order. Children's activities are squeezed between the buggies.
