Frommer's Review
This 1897 landmark hotel boasts guest rooms and public areas, particularly the centerpiece oak staircase, that are a work of Victorian charm. Modern conveniences are plentiful, but original oak doors, brass fixtures, claw-foot tubs, vintage prints, and delicate sconces remain. Rooms are individually furnished, with canopy or four-poster beds, armoires, and pastel fabrics. Room 307, the Roy Clark Room, named after the country singer who stayed here in 1990, is the most masculine of the rooms with black and white Victorian trimmings.
