Part of the Wyndham brand, this hotel is conveniently priced a step below the luxe brands while retaining much of the same atmosphere. The 17th-century mansion, built by a Spanish nobleman, the marquis of Picoaga, and much of the stonework remains, including archways and patios, as do original murals. Rooms are divided between colonial and contemporary wings. The colonial rooms are a much better choice with their high ceilings, replica wood furniture, and floral prints. The contemporary rooms feel more like standard rooms in any other mid-range hotel.
