Frommer's Review
This is the scaled-down companion hotel to the Sofitel Dalat Palace. It was renovated in 1997 from a 1932 building that was originally the Du Parc hotel, and a lovely job was done of it. The best thing at this hotel is the unique wrought-iron lift. It's a relic and so much fun to ride. The smallish rooms have attractive historic touches: glossy wood floors, tastefully understated wood furniture, and molded high ceilings. All the rooms are pretty cramped, with very little walking space between the bed and the walls. Thankfully, long overdue plans are in place to reduce the hotel's capacity (to 80 units) and expand room sizes. Everything is tidy and convenient, with nice local artwork throughout and homey warmth in tone and atmosphere. The bathrooms are a nice size, efficient, and spotless, with sleek granite and dark wooden trim. The staff is businesslike and abrupt, but can be persuaded to be friendly if you persist in your smiles. The hotel shares fine amenities with neighboring Dalat Palace.
