Budget tourists rave about this one, and for good reason. Dreams Hotel offers large, clean rooms with cable TV and hot water starting at just $10 (£5.55) for a single, including a sumptuous breakfast and free Internet access. The owner, Ms. Dung, and her son are very helpful, and this is a good budget base and a place to connect with other travelers. Just at the bottom of the hill from a street with many budget options, this hotel is also close to local tour providers like Phat Tire as well as to the friendly Easy Riders, who can take you on fun motorbike trips. Be sure to book ahead, best by e-mail, as Dreams is always fully booked. They've just built two more locations: One was just opening at press time and has rooms from $20 (£11); the other is a bit farther away, nearly 1km (half a mile) down the road.
