Choose from JFK Historical Tour, Rodeo Roundup, or a Western-themed daylong tour of Fort Worth that includes horseback riding and a hayride. Prices range from $30 per person for a 3-hour tour to $45 per person for a 9-hour Dallas and Fort Worth trip (half-price for children). For simple, standard, dependable tours, these are an okay deal. Other sightseeing tours of Dallas and Fort Worth are handled by All In One Tour Services (tel. 214/698-0332; www.allinonetourservices.com).
Dallas Surrey Services, 381 E. Greenbriar Lane (tel. 214/946-9911), offers horse-drawn carriage tours of historic Dallas 7 nights a week, weather permitting. Standard tours originate in the West End and visit Dealey Plaza and the Texas School Book Depository, Pioneer Plaza, and the Arts District, lasting about 20 minutes ($30 for up to four people). Longer, custom tours can last up to an hour ($100, four people). Belle Starr Carriages (tel. 972/734-3100) also offers horse-drawn tours of downtown Dallas, including Christmas Light Tours through Highland Park during the month of December.
DFW Heli-Tours (tel. 972/723-5364; www.dfwhelitours.com) takes up to six passengers out over Dallas for a bird's-eye view in a red Bell 'copter, starting from $25 per person for a short 5-minute ride.
