A persistent buzz around the many public spaces and the city's most contemporary-looking guest rooms mark this as one of the city's most popular hotels, not least because you can at times score a bargain: Room tariffs fluctuate like the stock exchange, so it's always worth checking for daily deals. The hotel is not all that spectacular at first glance: like all the city's big, modern hotels, the exterior is forgettable, and the lobby, with its faint resemblance to a Hindu temple (mirrored panels and vaulted ceilings over rug-covered marble floors), feels dated. Although accommodations have been styled with business travelers in mind, they're constantly updated to keep with the times. They're not huge, but the parquet-wood floors, sleek furnishings, and queen-size beds with lovely white duvets and thick mattresses will certainly make you feel comfortable. The modern bathrooms have glass basins, large walk-in showers, and tubs. When booking, ask for a renovated room, for the most up-to-date room styling, and also consider a slightly more expensive room facing the pool -- the so-called "bay rooms" are also a fraction more spacious. Hyatt Regency features the city's most authentic Italian restaurant (don't miss the pizzas here), and the Polo Bar is rated one of the city's best after-dark hangouts.
