This budget hotel, a mile south of downtown, was built in 1903 and underwent a renovation with hostel rooms a centlury later. Nicely maintained, the hotel includes such perks as access to a community kitchen and TV room (with Wi-Fi, a computer, and a small library) and coin laundry machines, as well as a patio out back. There are men’s and women’s dorm rooms with 22 bunks and about 100 modest but functional private rooms, some with baths and others that share them. Parking can be a bit difficult in the surrounding neighborhood, and the lack of air-conditioning can make for warm summer afternoons here.
