Named for its proximity to the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, the boutique Hotel Teatro is Denver’s most romantic hotel, still beaming from a slick renovation in 2012. A hotel since 1999, the former office building sports a stately exterior of red brick and gleaming white terra cotta as it did when it was built in 1911. Besides its moniker, the hotel pays homage to its theatrical neighbor with an assortment of props, photos, and costumes displayed throughout the public areas. With cherrywood details, Indonesian sandstone flooring, and mellow earth tones, the rooms are singularly striking. A new Colorado-centric restaurant, The Nickel, opened in 2014.
