Frommer's Review
Few hotels on the Oregon coast boast as spectacular a setting as the Inn at Otter Crest, one of the region's top resorts. If you want to get away from it all and enjoy a bit of forest seclusion on the beach, there's no better spot. The inn's numerous weathered-cedar buildings are surrounded by 35 acres of forests and beautifully landscaped gardens on a rocky crest above a secluded cove. Trails meander through the woods and lead down to the nearby Devil's Punchbowl and Beverly Beach State Park. Most rooms have excellent ocean views through a wall of glass that opens onto a balcony. My favorites are the loft suites, which have fireplaces, kitchens, and high ceilings. Service is rather casual, and you'll have to leave your car in a parking lot that's somewhat removed from the guest rooms. (Staff will shuttle you around in golf carts.)
