Getting There
Because dolmuses to Kaymakli and Derinkuyu that run out of Nevsehir require a time-consuming transfer, this is one of those times where a day tour or car rental will come in handy. The two sites are close enough to visit back-to-back, and while you're at it, you can add a side trip to the Ihlara Valley or to the evocative village of Güzelyurt.
Kaymakli is 18km (11 miles) south of Nevsehir, with another 9km (5 2/3 miles) south on the same road to get to Derinkuyu. Both cities can be reached by taking the Ürgüp Soganli road and taking the turnoff at Güzelöz.
