Frommer's Review
Only 1 1/2 miles east of Seaside, along Scenic Highway 30A, this comfortable yet classy restaurant prepares exquisite seafood, steaks, and wood-oven pizzas. It's mostly a vacationing white-collar crowd here, but that shouldn't stop anyone from enjoying the remarkable offerings (including drinks from the creative martini menu and wine from the extensive, award-winning list), served up by a friendly and efficient staff. Start with skewered wood-oven-roasted shrimp, sweetened and spiced with a pineapple chile sauce. Or begin more simply -- an arugula salad topped with pine nuts and shaved pecorino, tossed in lemon-garlic vinaigrette, is a tasty option. For entrees, you can't miss with either the macadamia-crusted cobia or the cumin-dusted grouper. If you're feeling more surf than turf, both the filet mignon, served with shrimp bordelaise sauce and sweet pepper and corn ragout, and the New York strip steak, with sides of horseradish whipped potatoes and blue-cheese butter, are excellent. Leave room for such desserts as the luscious molten chocolate cake or the heavenly banana beignets.
