The densest concentration of cafes and bars in Dinan lines the rue de la Cordonnerie, nicknamed la rue de la soif ("the street where you go when you're thirsty") by long-ago sailors.

An appealing destination is Le Bistrot d'en Bas, 20 rue Haute-Voie (tel. 02-96-85-44-00). It serves about a dozen reds and whites by the glass and at least 15 kinds of tartine (grilled open-faced sandwiches), served with a salad, for 7€ each.
