This is the best inn for those who want to be in the capital and plan to rely on public transportation -- usually business travelers, although it's a perfectly acceptable choice for vacationers, too. Of course, it's nowhere near a beach. This hotel is adjacent to the home of its owners, the Garraway family, and is the closest thing to a Ramada Inn on the island. Most of the spacious guest rooms have vistas stretching all the way to Dominica's southernmost tip. Each is outfitted with rattan furniture and pastel floral-print fabrics, one king-size or two double beds, and a combination tub/shower bathroom. Public rooms are given an authentic island touch with artwork and locally made vetiver-grass mats. On the premises is the Balisier restaurant.
