Frommer's Review
This is a so-called "wellness" and adventure retreat, one of the finest on this eco-friendly island. Opening in 2005, the resort is a holistic health spa with a mammoth "yoga terrace." In all, there are 35 rustically outfitted cottages with wood furnishings perched like birds nests on the hillside. The structures were made from volcanic stone and tropical hardwoods. The resort also features the Spa du Soleil, yoga studios, two restaurants serving health food, and hiking trails shooting out in all directions. Hikes cover a 23-hectare (57-acre) sanctuary, filled with tropical birds and an array of exotic plant life. A spring-fed stream cascades along the valley below the hotel. Cottages are accessed through a series of stone stairways and footpaths. At your semi-outdoor shower, your body communes with nature, or so they say. Organized activities include a full range of spa treatments, yoga classes, and even cultural activities such as live entertainment and dancing.
