Planning a Trip

Getting There -- Dornbirn is an express stop on the rail lines connecting Innsbruck with Bregenz. Trains, both local and express, arrive from either direction at 30-minute intervals throughout the day. For rail information, contact tel. 05/1717 (www.oebb.at). It's easier to get here by train, but there's also a bus that travels from the railway station at Bregenz to Dornbirn about nine times throughout the day (trip time: 26 min.).

If you're driving from Bregenz, head south along the A14 until you reach the signposted junction with Route 190, where you'll head east for Dornbirn.

Visitor Information -- There's a tourist office (tel. 05572/22188) in the center at Rathausplatz 1. It's open year-round Monday to Friday 9am to noon and 1 to 6pm, Saturday 9am to noon.

Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice. Please be sure to confirm all rates and details directly with the companies in question before planning your trip.
