Bon Appétit Restaurant and Brasserie Review

This chic eatery has two dining rooms; the restaurant is a formal dining extravaganza, complete with walls draped in silk wallpaper. Ingredients are just as luxurious: try the roast turbot with almonds and clams, or the organic lamb with gratin dauphinoise and rosemary jus. The food has earned top marks from local critics, and now has a Michelin star, so it's packing in the wealthy suburban crowd. Some complain it's a victim of its own success (crowding people in at tiny tables), but the food makes it worth the crush. An altogether more relaxed and informal atmosphere pervades in the brasserie, where the menu is decidedly less fussy (although still far from a budget option, if you order a la carte; a rib-eye steak will cost around €25). Typical dishes include filet of monkfish with lentils and red wine, or slow-roasted duck with black pudding and apple purée.

About Our System

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.

Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.

The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
