Review of SatisfactionThis is one of Durham's most enduringly raucous and sometimes frenetic sports bars. It occupies part of what was built in 1904 as a tobacco warehouse, a structure that was renovated in the mid-1980s into a rustic, heavily timbered shopping-and-restaurant complex. The woodsy-looking decor is such that you can easily imagine endless pitchers of beer spilled on it. Virtually everybody here makes a fuss over the homemade potato chips, served with ranch dressing. It also serves steak, chicken, or submarine sandwiches, as well as burgers, pastas, and platters. The bar is open Monday to Wednesday from 10am to midnight, Thursday to Saturday from 10am until 2am, and Sunday from noon until 10pm. | 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
