Getting There
The town is 80km (50 miles) west of Vienna. If you're driving, take Route 3 west. From Krems, continue driving west along Route 3 for 8km (5 miles). Train travel to Dürnstein from Vienna requires a transfer in Krems . In Krems, trains depart approximately every 2 hours on river-running routes; it's a 6km (4-mile) trip to Dürnstein. Visitor Information
A little tourist office, housed in a tiny shed in the east parking lot called Parkplatz Ost (tel. 02711/200), is open only April to October. Hours are daily 11am to 6pm.
