Since the mid-1980s, Ebeltoft has become Denmark's "glass kingdom." There are no fewer than six local glassworks producing and selling blown-glass items. At several of the studios, it's possible to see the workshops where glass bowls, vases, wine glasses, and beautiful dishes are created in the glowing furnace. You can visit various workshops and purchase glass at such outlets as Glasværkstedet, Skindergade 5 (tel. 86-34-08-89); Glaspusteriet, Kystvejen 169 (tel. 86-34-49-58); and Ebeltoft Glas, Nedergade 19 (tel. 86-34-35-66).
