Another second-floor restaurant, this time looking right down on to the Royal Mile near the John Knox house, Off the Wall moved to this prestigious location a few years ago. Fresh fish and game dishes are often highlighted on a frequently changing menu. Sea bass might be served with buttered leeks and mussels. A saddle of rabbit can be accompanied by rich foie gras or venison with braised cabbage. The dining room is elegant without being stuffy -- the same goes for service.
