HotelsEdmonton's accommodation options belie the size of the city; once again, the options tend to be sparser than one might expect of a city this size. Standard, reliable chain motels -- Super 8, Travelodge, etc. -- can be found clustered in the southern part of the city, where Highway 2 meets Highway 14, also known as Whitemud Drive; and also to the east and west of downtown along the Yellowhead/Trans-Canada Highway. Business-class hotels tend to cluster downtown, with a handful of interesting independents to be found in Old Strathcona. For B&Bs, try Alberta and Pacific Bed and Breakfast (tel. 604/944-1793) or the Alberta Bed and Breakfast Association (www.bbalberta.com).
