Located in the heart of the artsy High Street district, just west of downtown, the Glenora occupies the upper floors of a converted 1912 heritage apartment building. While lots of care has been taken to retain the period character and charm of the rooms, the rooms have been thoroughly updated -- all but three have private bathrooms, and some have full kitchen facilities. Most appealing is the happy mix of unique period furnishings and snappy interior design -- absolutely every room is unique. There are five styles of rooms, from simple bedroom units with shared bathrooms to one-bedroom apartment suites with kitchens. Free parking and access to a handsome Edwardian common room and a second-story deck is included. Complimentary breakfast is offered in an adjacent restaurant, and two top restaurants are a block away. The Glenora is an excellent value -- and fun to boot.
