In Raiding, a small nearby village 55km south of Eisenstadt, the Franz-Liszt-Geburtshaus contains many mementos of the composer's life, including an old church organ he used to play.
To get to the museum (tel. 02619/51057), take Route S31 south of Eisenstadt; then cut east onto a minor unmarked road at Lackenbach (follow the signs to Raiding from there). It's open only from Easter to October (daily 9am-noon and 1-5pm). Admission is 3.50€ ($5.60) for adults and 2€ ($3.20) for seniors, children, and students; a family ticket sells for 7€ ($11).
