Getting There -- If you're already in Cádiz, the easiest way to get here is to take El Vaporcito (tel. 62-946-80-14; www.vapordeelpuerto.com), a ferry departing from a dock behind Estación Marítima near the Transportes Generalics Comes station at Plaza de la Hispanidad. There are five to six ferries leaving per day. They take 40 to 45 minutes and cost 3€ ($4.80) per one-way ticket. Departures are between 10:15am and 8:45pm, with a return at 9am and 7:45pm.

There is also direct service by train from Seville, or suburban trains from Jerez de la Frontera or Cádiz. For information and schedules, call RENFE at tel. 90-240-20-20; www.renfe.es. Service is suspended between mid-December and January, resuming February 1.

If you have a car and are in Jerez, just follow the signs south. There are two arteries going into Puerto de Santa María; the N-IV is faster.

Visitor Information -- The local tourist office is at Luna 22 (tel. 95-654-24-13; www.elpuertosm.es). It's open Monday to Friday 9am to 2pm and 4 to 6pm (hours subject to change).
