Frommer's Review
Located on a steep rise above Eleuthera's Atlantic coast, this hotel is the creative statement of a Palmetto Point businessman who also owns the local hardware store (Unique Hardware). Built in 1992, the hotel offers accommodations in several configurations, including conventional single or double rooms, a one-bedroom apartment with a kitchenette, and two-bedroom villas with full kitchens. Each comes with a small bathroom with a tub/shower. A flight of wooden steps brings you to the beach, where a reef breaks the Atlantic surf, creating calm waters on this sandy cove. There's a bar and restaurant on-site, but few other luxuries. Though there aren't any sailing, scuba, or tennis amenities on-site, the staff can direct you to other facilities that lie within a reasonable drive (you'll probably want a car here).
Facilities:
Restaurant; bar; free snorkeling equipment; laundry service

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
