Frommer's Review
Like its sister property, the Canopy Tower, this lodge caters predominately to serious bird-watchers -- though its stylish sensibilities and its prime location in the lush foothills will appeal to any traveler. Unlike the Canopy Tower, there is no early-morning noise to wake up guests who are less-than-enthusiastic about bird-watching. Set on the shore of a meandering stream, Canopy Lodge is fresh and airy, almost minimalist, with most of the property built with river rock, wood, and glass. Guest rooms have whitewashed walls accented with just a dollop of color from Kuna Indian mola art. Six rooms have two queen-size beds with fluffy down comforters, two have king-size beds and bathrooms with walk-in showers; four single rooms share two baths. Sliding-glass doors open onto a long balcony, promoting a sense of oneness with the natural surroundings. Canopy Lodge sells bird-watching packages that include airport transfers, guided tours, and meals. Contact them for nightly pricing if you'd like lodging only.
