Frommer's Review
It's cozy, it's warm, and it has a lot of charm, but don't let this hotel's name fool you: The kind of modernism it was named for dates from just after World War II, when a 19th-century stone house and, later, the 14-room annex across the street were converted into one of central Erice's most appealing hotels. Rooms in the annex are bigger than those in the hotel's main core. Regardless of their location, all units have hints of 19th-century styling, the occasional antique, and bentwood, brass, and wicker furniture. About a dozen of the rooms open onto private balconies or terraces. All come with immaculate tiled bathrooms with tub/shower combos. If you arrive on a cold day, you're likely to be welcomed by a blazing fire. The on-site restaurant is highly regarded.
