Service can sometimes be off, and some dishes seem like they should be better than they are, but this place is one of San Diego County's gems. With a super-cool, Asian-influenced modern design and 1-acre garden with lovely landscaping, this huge complex features international cuisine that ranges from chicken tikka masala to yakisoba, duck tacos to penne pasta. Beer finds its way onto the menu, naturally, with dishes like cheddar and garlic soup with a dash of IPA, or the mac 'n' beer cheese. Stone is one of the nation's great microbreweries, but it's not afraid of a little friendly competition when it comes to what's on tap; you'll find more than 30 draft beers, plus a huge bottle list, from an international roster of craft brewers. You can combine a free brewery tour and tasting with a meal or a leisurely stroll through the gardens, pint in hand; it doesn't get any better than that.
