Restaurant Ferdaouss ReviewTotally lacking in bright lights, romantic decor, or a cool and hip staff, this is quite simply for me, the best cheap Moroccan restaurant in town. Overseen by Madame Souad and head (and sometimes only) waiter Rachid, Restaurant Ferdaouss has quietly set about establishing itself as the local restaurant of choice for Souiris, both Moroccan and expat. The short and simple menu offers only four starters, seven mains, and three desserts, but they are all delicious, and land on your table in superquick time. Standards such as harira soup, chicken couscous, and a vegetable tagine sit alongside less traditional offerings such as deep-fried phyllo squares of cheese, and tagines of goat with peas and baby potatoes, and beef with apricots, fig, and walnuts. For the little ones, they're more than happy to rustle up some fried fish or a chicken tagine with the obligatory fries. The restaurant is located down a badly lit laneway, and diners must first pass the open-sided kitchen before climbing a set of stairs into a very simple interior with both low-lying tables and lounges, as well as a few sit-up tables. Please be sure to confirm all rates and details directly with the companies in question before planning your trip.

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
