In the deluxe Las Dunas, one of the grandest and most elegant restaurants along the Costa del Sol holds forth. Majestic views, a mammoth crystal chandelier, and romantic piano tunes set the tone at this octagonal restaurant with floor-to-ceiling windows opening onto a sheltered terrace. Expect nothing but culinary delights on the ever-changing menu. Some of the dishes evoke the Pacific Rim; others draw upon inspiration from Europe. Only the finest products are used: duck from Nantes, lamb from Provence, beef and veal from Spain's Basque country, or tender and delectable chicken from Bresse (in our view, Europe's best). Picture it: sea bass carpaccio in a basil vinaigrette, fresh lobster in delicate saffron sauce, veal sweetbreads with fines herbes. Two irresistible desserts are crepes with a Grand Marnier froth filling and a sauce made from blood-red oranges, or chilled lemon grass crème brûlée with chilled mocha cream and fat, juicy raspberries.
